A new stewardship model for Ebbsfleet

Mark Walton

We are delighted to have been commissioned by Ebbsfleet Development Corporation to develop a long term stewardship model for the parks, opens spaces and community assets being created in the UK’s newest garden city.

The need to build more housing is leading to the creation of significant new developments including new towns, villages, and urban extensions.

In each case these new developments will include not just housing, but the parks, open spaces and community facilities that make a place liveable. How can we ensure they are managed sustainably for the future, creating shared social, economic and environmental benefits for new and existing communities?

Over the next few months we will be working with Ebbsfleet Development Corporation to develop a governance and business model that will meet their ambitions to develop and maintain a portfolio of high quality community assets.

We are undertaking this work in partnership with our associate Lorraine Hart, with Vivid Economics who have recently developed natural capital accounts for Sheffield and the Greater London Authority, and with leading charity law firm Bates Wells & Braithwaite.
