Residents are being supported by Stephen Shiell, Catherine Max and Enfield Council to involve more people, including children and young people, in the existing community garden; develop a design brief for the future of the garden on the estate; and identify options for the best way to manage it in the long-term.
The project is funded via the Legal & General Health Equity Fund which supports place-based initiatives tackling health inequalities. In addition to providing a space for residents to grow food and learn about healthy eating, develop design skills, socialise and relax, the new and likely expanded garden will contribute to council-wide plans to improve and connect parks, trees, open spaces, routes, woodlands and watercourses across the borough for the benefit of all.
