Alongside The Institute for Agriculture and Horticulture, The Landworkers’ Alliance, the Community Supported Agriculture Network UK and Tamar Grow Local, we spent a year long development phase designing a regionally-led land matching service backed by a centralised support team and a comprehensive digital platform. The service will forge new land partnerships to support the growth in agroecological production whilst seeking better understanding of land justice issues and inequalities to pave the way for a more productive, fair and diverse food and farming landscape.
Funding has now been secured for the steering group to begin delivering the service, focused on two regions to begin with (North-West and South-West England), and Shared Assets will continue to be involved in project management and strategy, as well as a new workstream specifically aimed at supporting marginalised (potential) farmers on their land-matching journey with colleagues from Pathways to Land and the LWA.
